Donaldson Translational Fellows Program

This Program, made possible by generous support from the Oliver S. and Jennie R. Donaldson Charitable Trust, is focused on removing historical barriers between research and medicine to accelerate the application of discoveries to benefit patients.

Donaldson Fellows are new Ph.D. graduates, or M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.s who have completed the bulk of their clinical training. Successful candidates will conduct translational research jointly at CSHL, usually in cancer, quantitative biology, or neurosciences, along with clinical partners. Drawing on the expertise of CSHL faculty and collaborative scientists, Donaldson Fellows pursue the discovery and development of novel therapeutic and diagnostic strategies, while working with leading clinicians to develop early phase clinical trials (typically phase 0 – phase II) to confirm their findings in patients, and to relate clinical findings back to the laboratory.

For more information about the program, please contact Bob Maki, M.D., Ph.D. at maki@cshl.edu or telephone 516-734-8976.
