Faculty ProfileMAPseq and BARseq are two novel high-throughput, multiplexed methods for brain mapping and in situ transcriptomics. Our goal is to develop and optimize these new techniques and apply them to the broader neuroscience community.
Traditional neuroanatomical approaches at single-cell resolution are expensive and labor-intensive. MAPseq and BARseq are two novel high-throughput techniques by converting neuroanatomy into a problem of DNA sequencing. By barcoding each neuron, we can overcome the conventional limit and exploit the throughput of next-generation sequencing in neuroanatomy. BARseq also helps bridge anatomical and transcriptomic approaches at subcellular spatial resolution. I and my team aim to develop and optimize MAPseq/BARseq techniques and provide collaborative research support to the broader research community.
