On November 22nd, Carol and Fran Ruchalski presented a check on behalf of The Mary Ruchalski Foundation to Dr. Chris Vakoc and members of his rhabdomyosarcoma research team in the amount of $85,000. Founded three years ago, the Foundation has donated a remarkable $282,000 to scientific research.
With their inspired Light the Way campaign in September to bring awareness to pediatric cancer month, they have touched an extraordinary number of people in Mary’s memory. With pediatric cancer consistently underfunded, researchers rely on the generous support from private donors and foundations to bring novel therapeutics and cutting edge research to the fight against Rhabdomyosarcoma and other pediatric cancers.
