The lacrosse team at Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA) in New Jersey raised over $2,000 during their spring season to support autism research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL). Lead by junior David Sheffet, MKA’s “Tackles for Autism” campaign was modeled after last year’s efforts by Cold Spring Harbor High School’s football team. Seeing how this disorder has affected family and close friends, the team was inspired to take action. They hope to continue their fundraising campaign this fall during the football season.
This donation will help fund CSHL’s groundbreaking research that is paving the way to early genetic diagnosis and better understanding of autism spectrum disorders. CSHL is extremely grateful to all of the participants and supporters of this campaign.
