Genome Research Call for Papers: Long-read DNA Sequencing Applications in Biology and Medicine

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Genome Research is now encouraging submissions reporting original research offering novel advances and insights from long-read genomic technologies to be included in a Special Issue, Guest Edited by Drs. Ana Conesa, Alexander Hoischen, and Fritz Sedlazeck.

Submissions should focus on original research offering novel biological and clinical insights gained using long-read DNA and RNA sequencing technologies and other long molecule approaches. We also encourage submissions offering significant advances in long-read sequencing analysis methods and their implementation. Examples include, but are not limited to, novel methods for genome assembly and annotation, discovery of complex structural variation and its genetic effects, insights into mutational processes and genetic diversity, approaches for quantifying DNA methylation with applications to comparative genomics, variant phasing, transcriptomics, epitranscriptomics, and metagenomics. We encourage submissions reporting research into all aspects of genome biology, development, diversity and evolution, and studies of human disease including cancer.

Authors submitting manuscripts for consideration may simultaneously deposit in bioRχiv. Accepted manuscripts can be published online in advance in Genome Research prior to the Special Issue print publication. We expect to coordinate the publication of these papers with commissioned Reviews in the Special Issue, which will appear in late 2024.

Please submit online at https://submit.genome.org by March 15, 2024, and include “LRS Special Issue” as one of the keywords.

We encourage presubmission queries. For editorial evaluation of the suitability of your work for consideration for the Special Issue, please email a cover letter and an Abstract to Executive Editor, Hillary Sussman.

When considering submission to Genome Research, please note that the journal is among the highest ranked primary research journals in genetics, biotechnology, and molecular biology. As always, Genome Research remains committed to the community it serves, setting standards in data quality, reproducibility, and accessibility, and offering an Open Access option for authors.
