Before coming here I knew that CSHL was a place with an extraordinary history and cutting-edge research. However, when I started as a student, I found out that CSHL is a very unique place. Besides from being a beautiful place by itself, it has high-tech labs with amazing people.

All of the different courses and scientific paper discussions during the fall semester opened my mind to a new way of thinking about science. After that, I rotated in three different labs ranging from structural biology to RNA biology. This was a fantastic experience because I not only learned new techniques, but I also discovered that there is always someone in every lab who is willing to help with experiments or data analysis.

Most importantly, I like that CSHL is an international community. I’ve met people from all over the world, so I’ve been able to expand my knowledge about other cultures. At the same time, I am also sharing my own traditions with others, which makes me happy since it makes me feel like I’m at home.
