Diverse: Issues In Higher Education magazine named Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) Assistant Professor Lucas Cheadle an Emerging Scholar on January 20, 2022. He joins 14 other “40 and under” scholars who have been selected for their significant achievements in academia through research, teaching, and service. Cheadle is being recognized for his pioneering work on brain development, studying how the brain is wired together during development, and how it goes awry in neurodevelopmental disorders.

Diverse: Issues In Higher Education provides information and insight about access, diversity, inclusion, and opportunity in American higher education. Every year, the magazine spotlights a group of scholars who serve as an inspiration to students and colleagues.

Cheadle, a Native American principal investigator at CSHL, says, “It is an honor to be named an Emerging Scholar amongst such incredible awardees. We are grateful to Diverse: Issues In Higher Education for acknowledging our work on the mechanisms underlying the development of the brain.”
