Activity description:
The secret to all living things is hidden within the genetic code. Join DNALC instructor Elna Gottlieb to discover some of DNA’s mysteries, and learn how to model the structure. If you would like to participate and build a DNA model alongside Elna, all you need is popsicle sticks or tongue depressors, masking tape and markers. If you don’t have those materials, join anyway to learn more about how DNA does its job, and other crafty ways to model DNA!
In this session, you will:
- Discuss the role of DNA in living things
- Explore the shape of DNA molecules
- Learn how to build a model of DNA from craft-store items
Materials needed to participate from home:
- 9 Popsicle sticks or tongue depressors
- Masking tape
- Markers
