Description
When you observe a cell under a microscope, one thing becomes readily apparent: life is complex. How did this complexity arise, and what can we do with this information? As an evolutionary geneticist and a researcher of mitochondria, CSHL Postdoc Bryan Gitschlag will guide you on a brief tour of biological complexity, focusing on the cell as we know it while highlighting parallels to animal societies and symbiotic relationships in nature. Building on these examples, Dr. Gitschlag will conclude with implications for our understanding of health and disease.
Note: CSHL does not provide food so please plan ahead.
Seating is limited and is first come, first serve. Standing room is available once the seats are filled. Reserving your ticket on Eventbrite does not guarantee you a seat at the event.
