L.I.A.B.C. serves up another successful tennis tournament

Despite the threat of rain, the L.I.A.B.C. (Long Islanders Against Breast Cancer) Annual Women’s Tennis Tournament on July 27, 2004 at the Old Westbury Golf and Country Club was the most successful to date, raising more than $17,000 for breast cancer research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

The event was sponsored by KIMCO Realty Corp.; Marjam Supply Co.; Charles McCuffog; HOMEZONE USA; Remodeling by Arthur W Lee; JP Morgan Chase; Local Truck Leasing; Long Island Medical Associates; Plainview Physical Therapy; Gymnastics Plus; Deutsche & Lipner, Attorneys at Law; Country Carpet & Rug; Carol Blass; Neil’s; Glenn and Susan Cohen; and Marla Leader, The Camp Expert.

L.I.A.B.C.—Long Islanders Against Breast Cancer—is a small fund-raising organization started approximately seven years ago by a concerned group of citizens who wanted to promote breast cancer research. All of the funds they raise go directly to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a leading breast cancer research facility on Long Island. They have no administrative or operating costs; they merely raise funds for Cold Spring Harbor and help fund its research.
