Helen Hou joined Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory’s neuroscience faculty on July 1, 2022. The Hou Lab explores how the brain controls movements and behaviors, including how the brain coordinates facial expressions to convey emotions.
“I’m excited to recruit and mentor lab members from a diverse range of backgrounds in biology, engineering, and quantitative disciplines to build an interdisciplinary team,” Hou said. “I’m looking forward to many discoveries surrounded by and collaborating with colleagues across different fields of biology at beautiful Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.”
Previously, Hou was a Helen Hay Whitney postdoctoral fellow at the Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute at Columbia University, and a visiting research scientist at the Neuromotor Interface team at Reality Labs. She completed her graduate work at Harvard University and was a Grass Fellow at the Marine Biological Laboratory.
