And he won't ever apologize for that. Why? Because increased awareness of the disease has been utterly transformative for CF patients and their families. Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory acknowledges the extraordinary influence that the Boomer Esiason Foundation has had on CF research and treatment, awarding Esiason a Double Helix Medal in 2019.
