Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) welcomed over 650 neighbors and friends to an open house that showcased the many different facets of the Lab and what happens on our campuses everyday. Nearly 80 CSHL staff, graduate students, postdocs and faculty helped visitors explore the campus and learn about CSHL’s innovative research and education programs.
CSHL scientists shared the latest from their labs about DNA, plant biology, cancer research, neuroscience, and quantitative biology. At numerous experimentation stations, scientists showed off corn samples, peeks into microscopes, and lessons on how to extract DNA. There were also short talks on topics that ranged from the understanding the immune system, tackling pancreatic cancer, and developing biofuels, to how CSHL’s Banbury Center “think tank” has helped advance science policy.
Thanks to all of you who came to visit us at the Open House! Please enjoy this slideshow and videos of the day’s festivities.
