Join us for an hour-long performance by Bixby Kennedy (clarinetist) and Steven Beck (pianist), as they blend rich clarinet melodies with dynamic piano solos, creating an unforgettable journey through both classical and contemporary repertoires.
Featured Artists
Bixby Kennedy is a versatile clarinetist praised for his "marvelous ringing tone" (Albany Times Union). He has performed as a soloist with major orchestras and toured globally as a chamber musician, including with Frisson Ensemble. A dedicated educator, Bixby is a former member of Ensemble Connect and regularly performs at top U.S. festivals. He holds degrees from Indiana University and Yale University and plays exclusively on Backun instruments.
Steven Beck, pianist, performs with the Princeton and Chattanooga orchestras, in chamber music in Chicago and Oklahoma City, and reprises his annual Goldberg Variations performance at Bargemusic. He has soloed with the New York Philharmonic and National Symphony and performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. A champion of new music, Beck has premiered works by Wuorinen and Lerdahl, and recorded over 40 CDs. He is a member of the Knights, Talea Ensemble, Quattro Mani, and Da Capo Chamber Players, and teaches at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
The concert begins at 6 p.m. sharp and concludes at 7 p.m.
Doors open at 5:45 p.m. No intermission. There will be a 45-minute-long reception to follow.
There is free venue parking.
Purchasing a ticket allows you concert and reception entry, no assigned seating in auditorium, guests can sit where they like.
