Daniel L. Doctoroff transformed New York after 9/11 through a five-borough strategy in partnership with Michael Bloomberg. After his service in City Hall, he was CEO of Bloomberg, LP and was founder and CEO of Sidewalk Labs, Alphabet’s pioneering urban innovation company that provides products and services that integrate smart design with cutting-edge technology to radically improve urban life. Upon being diagnosed with ALS in October 2021, he dedicated his life to scaling up Target ALS, the innovative non-profit that he founded in 2013 that has catalyzed dramatic progress in ALS research.

Alisa Doctoroff has been active on the boards of a wide spectrum of organizations and foundations – small and large, new and old – that promote deep engagement with Jewish life, and that build and provide care for community. She is immediate past chair of the Jim Joseph Foundation, whose mission is fostering compelling Jewish learning experiences for young Jews.  She is also past President and Chair of the board of UJA-Federation of New York where she has long been involved in its work in Israel as well as locally. A past president of the Abraham Joshua Heschel School in New York City, she was instrumental in founding its high school division and building a new school campus.

She is proud to serve alongside her husband Dan on the board of Target ALS, the organization he founded that has transformed the field of ALS research .  Additionally, she serves on the board of Montefiore Einstein, a premier academic health system based in the Bronx.  She is a also board member of New Profit, a venture philanthropy organization that backs entities and leaders advancing equity and opportunity in the U.S.

Alisa graduated from Harvard College and received an M.B.A at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. She also holds an M.A. in Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary. She lives in Manhattan with Dan and they are the proud parents of three adult children, their spouses and a growing gaggle of grandchildren.
