TITLE Faculty Position in Cancer Biology at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory
DUTIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking an outstanding candidate for a faculty position in Cancer Biology at the Assistant Professor level. The ideal candidate must have successfully completed postdoctoral training with a strong record of achievement and have developed an innovative program in basic cancer research. We seek highly motivated candidates with a commitment to excellence. Individuals working in the areas of brain cancer, lung cancer, or cancer immunology would be of particular interest. However, outstanding candidates in all areas of cancer research will be considered.




Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is a world-renowned research and educational institution with programs in cancer, neuroscience, plant biology, genomics and bioinformatics. Located on the North Shore of Long Island 30 miles from New York City, the Laboratory has a rich and successful research environment.  The CSHL Cancer Center has a strong research program in basic cancer biology, development of cancer animal models and advanced genomic and single cell technologies. Building on these strengths, the program is expanding to incorporate therapeutic and diagnostic applications. Successful applicants will be provided with generous startup packages, and will receive a faculty appointment in the Watson School of Biological Sciences and CSHL’s NCI-designated Cancer Center.

TITLE FACULTY AND FELLOW POSITIONS IN QUANTITATIVE BIOLOGY AT COLD SPRING HARBOR LABORATORY
DUTIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) is searching at the Assistant Professor level for highly talented individuals to join its SIMONS CENTER FOR QUANTITATIVE BIOLOGY (SCQB). Specific research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, modeling and analysis of transcriptional regulation, sequence assembly and variant calling for emerging technologies, evolutionary and population genomics, single-cell analysis, and cancer genomics. Successful candidates will have an outstanding record of research achievement and the ability to attract significant extramural research support.  This position is for candidates focused on dry-lab research (experimental space is limited).

CSHL is also accepting nominations for its SCQB Fellows Program.  This program is designed for exceptional computational scientists who have recently received their Ph.D. or M.D. degree and who are sufficiently talented and experienced to forgo standard postdoctoral training to move directly into this semi-independent research position.

The Simons Center for Quantitative Biology (SCQB) is a growing new center of excellence on the CSHL campus, which has been generously endowed with a $50M donation from the Simons Foundation, plus other endowment gifts. The Center currently consists of ten faculty members with backgrounds in computer science, physics, applied mathematics, and genetics, and interests spanning genomics, neuroscience, biophysics, and cancer. Members of the SCQB are fully integrated and highly collaborative with the broader CSHL faculty, but the Center maintains a strong focus on mathematical, computational, and theoretical pursuits.

TITLE FACULTY POSITION IN THEORETICAL NEUROSCIENCE AT COLD SPRING HARBOR LABORATORY
DUTIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) is seeking a highly motivated applicant in the area of THEORETICAL NEUROSCIENCE. Of particular interest to this search are candidates with expertise in computational and theoretical neuroscience, and machine learning. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of research achievement. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level will be considered.

CSHL is a world-renowned research and educational  institution with programs in cancer, neuroscience, plant biology, genomics and bioinformatics. The Laboratory is recognized internationally for its excellence in research and educational activities. The primary research focus of our highly collaborative neuroscience faculty is neural circuits, and how they relate to behavior.  CSHL faculty approach questions at the genetic, molecular, developmental, systems, behavioral, computational and theoretical levels.
