On June 18, some 50 eager foursomes arrived at the Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley to play 18 holes at CSHL's 9th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Dolan DNA Learning Center. The tournament raised over $200,000 in support of the DNA Learning Center's programs of genetics education for students, teachers, and the public.

While no one drove home the Hole-in-One-Prize donated by Competition BMW of Smithtown—a brand new BMW 325ci—prizes were awarded for individual and team efforts as follows:

Individual Low Gross: Peter Adimando/Bob Aitken (tied with 71)

Individual Low Net: Susannah Aboff/Marty Farb (tied with 65)

Team Low Net, 1st Place: Art Brings, Bernard Fortunato, Jr., Jack O'Donnell, Frank Russo (51)

Team Low Net, 2nd Place: Alan Goldring, Alan Goore, Arthur Herman, Robert Sale (52)

Team Low Net, 3rd Place: Fred Barron, Ray Lynch, Frank Mehler, Ray Mohr (53)

Closest to the Pin (17th hole): Paul Adimando (4'8")

Longest Drive (AM/PM/Women's): Dan Decker, Dill Ayres, Susannah Aboff

Back at the clubhouse for cocktails and dinner after the final putt, bidding was brisk during an auction led by Francis Wahlgren, the head of Christie's Books & Manuscripts department in New York (and "Antiques Road Show" appraiser). Hot items at auction included a private plane tour of Long Island donated by Skip Hargraves, an Alaskan adventure courtesy of Butch Cutting, a gourmet meal prepared by CAB Chairman Eddie Chernoff, Knicks and Jets tickets, and a dinner cruise aboard the Quick family's spectacular ketch, Parlay.

The Chairman of the 9th Annual CSHL Golf Tournament was James E. Mattutat. CSHL Senior Development Officer, Erin Wahlgren, did outstanding work to organize the event. Thanks again to James, Erin, Francis (Erin's husband), all the members of the Dolan DNA Learning Center Corporate Advisory Board, and the many corporate and individual sponsors that made the tournament a swinging success!
