Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory
President's Council

Dr. Bruce Nash shows Genie and Walter Kissinger how RNAi works under a microscope at the 2007 retreat
The President’s Council is comprised of distinguished individuals (see member list) , led by Laboratory President Bruce Stillman, who make substantial annual gifts to research and education, specifically supporting the CSHL Fellows. Contributors of $25,000 or more annually to the Laboratory are invited to join the President’s Council.

The CSHL Fellows make up a small group of exceptionally talented young scientists at a crucial period in their careers, who show the capacity for high level, innovative research. Instead of doing a postdoctoral apprenticeship with a senior scientist, Fellows begin independent research immediately following receipt of their Ph.D.s. This rigorous program promotes outstanding young scientists to advance their careers at a young age so that they can promptly contribute important, new insights to biomedical science.

The Council gathers throughout the year for stimulating events related to research at the Lab, including a spring cocktail reception in New York City and a fall weekend retreat on the Laboratory’s campus, presenting world-renowned leaders speaking on a specific topic. President’s Council members also enjoy the opportunity to network with other members and receive regular updates on research advances by Laboratory scientists and invitations to special Lab events.
