 rbor Village</strong><strong>: </strong><em>An afternoon of fun for element

 yle="font-size: 10pt;">Take your kids and grandkids on a scavenger hunt to 
 discover the rich history of Cold Spring Harbor Village and its special con
 nection to DNA. The hunt will guide you through village landmarks including
  The Whaling Museum, The Firehouse Museum, The Cold Spring Harbor Library a
 nd Environmental Center and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory's DNA Learning Ce
 nter (DNALC). In addition to hands-on activities, clues will be hidden arou
 nd the village. These locations will be open to scavenger hunt participants
  from 12:00am-4:00pm on Saturday April 20, 2013.</span></p><p><span style="

 "font-size: 10pt;"><b>The DNA Day Scavenger Hunt starts at the DNA Learning
  Center </b><i>(334 Main Street)</i><b> where you may pick up your map and 
 questions – and take part in your first hands-on activity and ends at the <
 /b><b>Cold Spring Harbor Library </b><i>(95 Harbor Road).</i> Along the way
 , stop, shop and snack at the stores throughout the village. Parking is ava
 ilable along Main Street, in the parking lot in Cold Spring Harbor Village

 sland Discovery (LID) </i>is a multimedia presentation on the history of Lo
 ng Island.  LID chronicles the colorful history of the people, places, and 
 events that shaped Long Island's history: from the massive glaciers that et
 ched its landscape and determined its geography, to the ever-evolving commu
 nities that indelibly mark their residents with the lessons of life. At the
  same time, <i>Long Island Discovery</i> speaks to the future - to the chil
 dren who are learning to respect their rich, common heritage and preserve i

 t;">DNA Day is celebrated across the country, with educational events spons
 ored by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), a part of the
  National Institutes of Health. The day commemorates the completion of the

 – events closely tied to the world-famous biomedical research laboratory in
