to DNA. The hunt will guide you through village landmarks including The Wha

on, Long Island Discovery (LID) is a multimedia presentation on the history
of Long Island.  LID chronicles the colorful history of the people, places
, and events that shaped Long Island's history: from the massive glaciers t

communities that indelibly mark their residents with the lessons of life.
At the same time, Long Island Discovery speaks to the future - to the child
ren who are learning to respect their rich, common heritage and preserve it
for generations to come.\n\n\n \n\n\nDNA Day is celebrated across the coun
try, with educational events sponsored by the National Human Genome Researc
h Institute (NHGRI), a part of the National Institutes of Health. The day c
ommemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003 and th
e discovery of DNA's double helix – events closely tied to the world-famous
biomedical research laboratory in our backyard, Cold Spring Harbor Laborat
ory.\n\n\n\n\nFor information on other ways to celebrate National DNA Day v
