Responsibilities:
The set up, maintenance, and breakdown of computer
hardware (computers, printers, wireless APs,

etc.) for multiple, concurrent, short duration
courses. Troubleshooting and resolving of software,
hardware, and networking problems to be completed
within a compressed timeframe - at times on
20+ machines or more.
Qualifications:
• The successful candidate will be self
motivated with two plus years of experience
in a fast paced environment, possess excellent
interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent
customer service skills, as well as the ability
to prioritize the fulfillment of multiple requests.
• Candidate must have a working knowledge
of server hardware and software (configuration/

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), seeks
an experienced grants administrator for the
Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). OSP actively
promotes the research and education mission
of CSHL by facilitating and managing sponsored
funding in collaboration with CSHL Investigators,
the Director of Research, and other CSHL Departments.
The Senior Grants Administrator serves as a
key member of the OSP management team. The Administrator
will coordinate and manage sponsored research
activities including accounting, and compliance
with sponsor requirements, and will ensure that
institutional policies, laws and regulations
are proactively addressed and followed. The
Administrator will be a lead resource for negotiating
and acceptance of awards and interpreting and
implementing sponsored program requirements.
The Administrator will train and foster the
professional development of OSP staff and research
administrators.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
in a higher education, financial, or research
administration environment is required. An advanced
degree in business, finance, or accounting is
preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of federal
regulations for research administration is required,
and outstanding leadership and managerial experience
is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and
the ability to interface with institutional
faculty and administrators are necessary. Solid
knowledge of PC-based computing applications
in the networked computing environment, including
Microsoft Office, email, and financial database
applications are essential and knowledge of
Lawson Business Systems software is a plus.

project, a new NSF-funded initiative which seeks

level, such as molecular biologists, cellular
biologists and geneticists, to those working on
the ecosystem and planetary level—in partnership
with computer scientists and engineers, information
scientists, mathematicians and social scientists,
in order to facilitate communication and collaboration
across all of these disciplines to address questions
of global importance and advance all of these
fields.
Responsibilities:
The applicant will interact with bioinformaticians
and other members of the iPlant team to participate
in the design and implementation of interfaces
for the next generation of systems for organizing,
analyzing and visualizing large-scale data sets
in the fields of genomics, phylogenetics, developmental
biology and physiology.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have significant experience
in web application development, including MVC
interface models and frameworks. He or she should
have a demonstrated understanding of object oriented
programming principles, a solid foundation in
database design principles and usage, and experience
in web user interface design and implementation.
We require knowledge of a high level language
such as Perl, Ruby or Java, as well as the JavaScript
web client programming language. Experience in
AJAX development is a strong positive, as is familiarity
with usability and regression testing of user
interfaces. Proficiency with source code control
systems and comfort in agile development environments
is also strongly encouraged.
