WSBS student Emiliano Rial Verde was awarded a pre-doctoral fellowship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

2002

Two publications co-authored by one of our graduate students, Ira Hall, were cited as part of the "Breakthrough of the Year" for 2002 by the journal Science.

 

2003

The two papers cited by Science as "Breakthrough of the Year" in 2002 were awarded the 2003 Newcomb Cleveland Prize by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

WSBS student Charles Kopec was awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Individual Fellowship.

WSBS student Catherine Cormier was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

WSBS student Patrick Paddison was awarded a US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command Breast Cancer Research Program Predoctoral Fellowship.

WSBS student Catherine Cormier was awarded a PEO Scholar's award, which is given to women of the United States and Canada who are pursuing advanced degrees or are engaged in advanced study and research at an accredited institution.

WSBS student Keisha John was awarded a Ford Foundation Fellowship from the National Research Council of the National Academies.

WSBS graduate Patrick Paddison was awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award, NCI.

 

2005

WSBS student Daniel Chitwood was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

WSBS student Elizabeth Murchison was awarded a US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command Breast Cancer Research Program Predoctoral Fellowship.

WSBS student Zachary Lippman was awarded the prestigious Harold M. Weintraub international Award for graduate studies and a Human Frontier Science Program Postdoctoral Fellowship.

WSBS graduate Ji-Joon Song was awarded a Jane Coffin Childs Memorial Fund Postdoctoral Fellowship.

WSBS graduate Amy Caudy was awarded a Ruth Kirschstein NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship, NIAID; a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellowship and a Lewis Sigler Fellowship. She declined the HHW to be able to accept the LSF.

WSBS graduate Masafumi Muratani was awarded the Human Frontier Science Program Fellowship and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellowship (terminated to accept HFSP).

WSBS graduate Elena Ezhkova was awarded the Life Sciences Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship.

WSBS graduate Patrick Paddison was awarded the James D. Watson Investigator Program Award, New York State Office of Science, Technology, and Academic Research.

WSBS student Colin Malone was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

WSBS graduate Elizabeth Murchison was awarded the Sir Keith Murdoch Fellowship by the American Australian Association Education Fund.

WSBS student Yaniv Erlich was awarded the IEEE-CS/ACM High Performance Computing Ph.D. Fellowship in recognition of his Alta Cyclic base-calling software.

WSBS graduate Claudia Feierstein was awarded the École des Neurosciences de Paris Postdoctoral Fellowship.

WSBS graduate Elizabeth Murchison was awarded the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council Overseas Biomedical Postdoctoral Fellowship.

    WSBS graduate Christopher Harvey was named the 2010 Larry Katz Memorial Lecturer for the Cold Spring Harbor meeting on Neuronal Circuits

    WSBS graduate student Yaniv Erlich was awarded the prestigious Harold M. Weintraub International Award for Graduate Studies. He was also named a 2010 Genome Technology Young Investigator.

    WSBS student Amy Rappaport was selected to present at the 5th annual “Cracking the Code with the Bear” Research Symposium.

    WSBS graduate Christopher Harvey received a Burroughs-Wellcome Fund Career Award at the Scientific Interface.

    WSBS graduate Oliver Tam was awarded a Long-Term Fellowship from the Human Frontier Science Program.

    WSBS student Elizabeth Nakasone was selected to attend the AACR¹s Translational Cancer Research for Basic Scientists Workshop.

    WSBS graduate Christopher Harvey received Burroughs-Wellcome Fund, Career Award at the Scientific Interface.

    WSBS student Maria Joaquina Delas Vives was awarded a fellowship from the la Caixa Foundation.

    WSBS graduate Elizabeth Murchison was one of Genome Technology Magazine's Young Investigators of the Year for 2011 for her research on "Cancer in the Wilderness". She also gave a lecture at the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh in 2011.

    WSBS student Colleen Carlston was selected into the National Science Foundation’s 2012 East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes for U.S. Program.

    WSBS graduate Elizabeth Murchison is the recipient of the Eppendorf award for Young European Investigators and the MRC Jewellery Heirloom Award.

    WSBS Student John Sheppard was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and received a National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate Fellowship from the Department of Defense.

    WSBS Student Melanie Eckersley-Maslin was awarded a Keystone Symposium Traveling Fellowship. She was also awarded an American Society for Cell Biology travel fellowship to attend annual conference.

    WSBS graduate Hiroshi Makino was awarded a fellowship from the Uehara Memorial Foundation (Japan). He also received a fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
