Description
The Microarray Shared Resource provides Cancer Center members with access to state-of-the-art microarray platform technologies such as expression arrays, and several other molecular techniques that have become available over the last several years. Libraries for gene targeting experiments in mice or functional inactivation by RNAi are stored and distributed by this Shared Resource. All services are LIMS supported for sample tracking and quality assurance.

Services
Microarray chips:
The facility prints microarrays for expression analysis using the Compugen Human 19K, and Mouse 22K oligonucleotide libraries.
The Microarray Shared Resource provides access to Affymetrix Genechips, and is now a member of the Affymetrix Core Lab Program.
Custom microarraying is also available for any user-provided samples including, Oligonucleotides, PCR Products, Living Arrays, Proteins and Antibodies.

Array services:
Complete labeling and hybridization services are available with RNA samples submitted by users.
Training is offered for all steps of the microarray experimental process for users interested in carrying out their own experiments.
Users can attend the Hotelling Service, a comprehensive workshop service from experimental design through to data management and publishing.

Array Bioinformatics:
Data analysis and gene annotation services, training and assistance are provided for both Affymetrix and printed array platforms.
Data warehousing, and some data analysis, are available through a secure web based server, using the BioArray Software Environment (BASE) Relational Database.
Training and support are also available for GCOS, MAS 5.0, Spotfire, S-plus, Bio-conductor and associated R Based Tools.

Maintenance and distribution of libraries:
Libraries for gene targeting experiments in mice or functional inactivation by RNAi are stored and distributed internally by this Shared Resource.
