Description The DNA Sequencing Shared Resource provides cost effective and rapid DNA sequence analysis to members of the CSHL Cancer Center. The DNA Sequencing Facility offers full service fluorescent-based capillary DNA sequencing. Users can submit samples of PCR products, single and double stranded plasmids, BACs and cosmids. Facility staff set up reactions, run the samples and post final data on a shared drive for retrieval. The resource also provides consulting expertise for DNA preparation to improve the DNA sequencing results of the users. The on-site service provides convenience and a rapid turn-around time, facilitating the many projects that require DNA sequencing support.

Services

DNA Sequencing       The DNA Sequencing Facility offers full-service fluorescent-based automated DNA Sequencing to the CSHL staff. Sequence samples are analyzed on an ABI3700 automated sequencer.

Shared ABI Sequencer Instrumentation For those staff members who prefer to do their own sequencing or fragment analysis, an ABI 377 Automated Sequencer is available. This machine is equipped with both DNA sequencing software and GeneScan analysis software for fragment analysis.

DNA Synthesis DNA Synthesis is contracted to Sigma Genosys.
