DESCRIPTION
The Instrumentation Shared Resource encompasses the in-house workshop for repair, maintenance, design and fabrication of light and specialized laboratory equipment as well as the outside service contracts for the major complex shared equipment. The repair workshop provides both preventive maintenance as well as fast response time for equipment repair. The design and fabrication section of the workshop prepares specialized laboratory equipment and works together with investigators to design and construct equipment to specifications.

SERVICES
Equipment Repair & Maintenance for a wide variety of equipment

• Equipment for lab operations (autoclaves, dishwashers, ovens)
• Support for shared equipment (centrifuges, shaker boxes, thermal cyclers)
• Temperature regulated storage (cold rooms, -80 freezers). To ensure protection of sensitive samples, 24 hour monitoring is provided
• Management of external service contracts for shared equipment

MACHINE SHOP

• Custom design and fabrication of parts & equipment for scientific instruments
