Pfizer Long Island 2 Day Walk To Fight Breast Cancer Announces April Training Schedule

Events Scheduled Throughout Long Island For Walkers, Volunteers and Crew

The second annual Pfizer Long Island 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer – scheduled for June 4 –5, 2005 – will benefit Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program; Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition; Brentwood Bay Shore Breast Cancer Coalition; Brookhaven Memorial Medical Center; Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory; Casting for Recovery; Cure Mommy's Breast Cancer; Huntington Breast Cancer Action Coalition; The Maurer Foundation for Breast Health Education; North Shore Neighbors Breast Cancer Coalition; Sister's Network Suffolk County; Town of Islip Breast Cancer Coalition; WALK for Women Breast Cancer Fund; West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition; and Women's Health Partnership, Nassau County. Saturday, April 02, 2005 - 9 am: Kick Off Breakfast & Training Walk for the Long Island 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer. Cedar Creek Park, Wantagh. Saturday, April 09, 2005 - 7am: Shoe Clinic & Training Walk for the Long Island 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer. Runner’s Edge, 242 Main Street, Farmingdale. A 7-mile training walk on the residential streets of Farmingdale followed by a shoe clinic. Valuable information provided about proper footwear for long distance walking. Sunday, April 24, 2005 - 8 am: Training Walk for the Long Island 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer. Holtsville Ecology Center. Walk 5 miles in the residential area around the center, then use the 1.2 mile walk inside the park to add more mileage, leaving the option for those who want to stop at 5 miles. Weather permitting.
