Good Vibes Resound at JAZZ at the LAB

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Association’s 7th annual JAZZ at the LAB, co-chaired by Joanne and Jay Andrea and Pien and Hans Bosch, grossed a record-breaking $176,000 for basic biological research in cancer, neurological disorders and many other diseases. At the April 9 event, multi-Grammy award winning vibraphonist, Gary Burton and his new Generations Quintet, performed a mix of mainstream jazz and jazz-rock.

Jazz at the Lab is the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Association’s most important fundraiser, raising a significant portion of the annual one million dollar goal for unrestricted research support. Jazz attendees join members of the Association in providing fellowships, technicians and Laboratory equipment for some of the most promising young scientists in the world.
